LObe and Lung Analysis 2011 (LOLA11)

The goal of LOLA11 is to compare methods for (semi-)automatic segmentation of the lungs and lobes from chest computed tomography scans. Any team, whether from academia or industry, can join.

How does it work?

The organisation of this challenge is similar to that of previous challenges described on Grand Challenges in Medical Image Analysis.

On this website, teams can register to participate in the study. After registration, they can download a set of chest CT scans and apply their segmentation algorithm for lung and/or lobe segmentation to the scans. The submitted results will be evaluated against a reference standard and will be published on-line on this site.

In the first phase of LOLA11, teams must submit their results before June 22, 2011 and will receive their results in tabular format. They are invited to submit a paper about their method and their results to the Fourth International Workshop on Pulmonary Image Analysis, held on September 18, 2011 in Toronto, Canada, as part of the MICCAI 2011 conference.

In the second phase of LOLA11, submitted results are processed immediately and displayed on this site.
